This new full time/maximum part time post, available from April 2003 will enable us to utilise our 5th operating theatre. The department will have a total of 12 Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthetists providing a service for theatres and Intensive Care, training Specialist Registrars and contributing to the hospital's research and development programme.
Applicants for this post must have experience in Anaesthesia for adult Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, preferably including Transplantation. Experience of general and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care is necessary and competence in the use of intraoperative TOE will be desirable.
To be eligible for interview applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or have an EA qualification recognised for inclusion or be within 3 months of receiving their CCST in Anaesthesia at the date of interview. Interviews will be held on March 11 2003.
