Two of these posts will start at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and 2 in a District General Hospital for 6 months before moving to a Teaching Centre.
During the first 2 years of the programme trainees will receive modular training in the subspecialties. Formal teaching during Year 1 centres on the Anglia day release Final FRCA Course. Once the FRCA has been achieved, an academic attachment may be available, particularly directed at improving teaching, critical review and basic research skills.
The 3rd and 4th Years, spent at District Hospitals, include organised training and experience in management and administration, audit and teaching. There is ample opportunity to conduct clinical research. The final year, based at a Teaching Centre, is tailored to suit the Consultant aspirations of the trainee. There are excellent facilities for intermediate and advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine, including the possibility of a 6 month post in General Medicine.
