The consultant anaesthetists at Papworth Hospital have all undergone basic and specialist training in General Anaesthesia and Critical Care, as well as specialist training in all aspects of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia. All hold the diploma of Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (or equivalent) and a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST or equivalent), and are listed on the United Kingdom General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register. The current GMC registration status of each consultant can be checked by selecting a consultant biography from the list above and 'clicking' on the GMC button. In addition, a number of consultants have held consultant (or equivalent) posts in the USA and Far East, have undertaken research and obtained higher degrees, and have undergone additional training in General Medicine and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE).
