papworthApplications are invited for two Consultant posts in cardiothoracic anaesthesia. These jobs will commence in July 2011 and August 2011.

Post 1: CARDIOTHORACIC ANAESTHESIA predominately theatre based

Post 2: CARDIOTHORACIC ANAESTHESIA AND INTENSIVE CARE

In these replacement posts, you will provide Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Services.

Papworth Hospital is one of the UK’s leading specialist Cardiothoracic and Cardio-Pulmonary Transplantation centres, serving a population of approximately 3 million people and performing over 2,000 Elective Major Adult Cardiac Surgical cases per year.

You will join a team of 12 substantive Consultant Anaesthetists who provide the full spectrum of Anaesthetic and Intensive Care services. With the clinical skills, drive and commitment to contribute to our leading edge status, you will have completed the equivalent training and experience for (UK) Completed Certificate of Specialist Training (CCST) in Anaesthesia. You will also bring substantial experience of working in the UK in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care for Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery, including Heart and Lung Transplantation. Experience in Transoesophageal Echocardiography (TOE) will be vital and an Intensive Care qualification will be desirable for the second post.

You must either be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the register within 6 months of the interview date.

Posts commence on 1st July and 1st August respectively.

Salary: MC72 (£74,504 - £100,446 pa)
